Exclusive: Producer Razesh Danda Talks Upcoming Pan-Indian Venture and More

As Razesh Danda, the creative mind behind blockbuster hits like “Samajavaragamana” and “Ooru Peru Bhairavakona,” gears up to celebrate his birthday tomorrow, we caught up with him for an exclusive interview. Here’s the conversation:

How do you feel about your success as a producer?

I’m genuinely thrilled about the recent success of my films. I’m grateful to everyone who contributed to their box office triumphs. My aim is to continue entertaining audiences with compelling concepts in the future.

What prompted you to produce “Bachchala Malli” solo?

The story of “Bachchala Malli” resonated deeply with me. Set in the 90s, it blends action, paternal sentiment, and romance seamlessly. Hence, I made the decision to produce it independently. We’re halfway through shooting, and the final schedule is slated for May. Our target is a July release.

You’ve been successful with mid-range heroes. What about collaborating with A-listers?

It’s not about the stature of the hero; it’s about the content. If I believe in the script, I’m willing to pursue it, and the casting follows suit. In 2025, I’ll be venturing into my first pan-Indian project with a top-tier hero. Details will be disclosed later.

Do you simply fund projects, or are you hands-on in other aspects?

I’m actively involved in both financing and overseeing the projects. Fortunately, I’ve maintained excellent relationships with the actors I’ve collaborated with, ensuring smooth operations thus far.

Which genres do you prefer?

While I appreciate all genres, I have a soft spot for action comedies.

What can you tell us about the rumors regarding your next film with Sundeep Kishan?

Those rumors are unfounded. While it’s inspired by Prasanna Kumar’s concept for Chiranjeevi, contrary to social media buzz, it’s not a remake of “Bro Daddy.”

Could you give us a glimpse into your upcoming projects?

Currently, I’m focused on “Bachchala Malli” starring Allari Naresh. Additionally, a project with Sundeep Kishan will commence production in May. Furthermore, a collaboration with Kiram Abbavaram, helmed by debutant Shyam, is in the pre-production phase. Stay tuned for more updates on these endeavors.
